What is Bluebridge?
Bluebridge operates passenger and vehicle ferries between Wellington (North Island) and Picton (South Island), New Zealand offering a convenient way to cross the Cook Strait. JUCY and Star RV act as an agent for Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferries.
Can I take my car, campervan or motorhome on Bluebridge?
Yes. All JUCY and Star RV cars/campervans/motorhomes can be taken on Bluebridge ferries. You’ll need to book a vehicle fare along with your passenger tickets.
How do I book a ferry crossing?
You can book your Bluebridge ferry tickets directly through our online booking portal. Simply log in to your booking and add ferry tickets to your reservation.
Please note: Ferry tickets cannot be booked or changed through our customer support team or at our branches — all bookings must be made through the self-service portal.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we strongly recommend booking in advance, especially during peak travel times (summer, school holidays, and long weekends), as sailings can sell out.
Can I change my ferry booking?
Yes. JUCY and Star RV offer flexi fare tickets. Which means you can make changes up to 1 hour prior to your scheduled ferry departure. You need to contact Bluebridge directly for assistance with amendments.
What happens if I miss my sailing?
Please refer to Bluebridge terms and conditions which you agree to at the point of making your booking.
Do I need to bring anything special for my vehicle?
Make sure your car, campervan or motorhome is fully secured before boarding (all gas bottles turned off, loose items stored). The Bluebridge crew will guide you during boarding.
Who do I contact for support?
For bookings and changes: Please contact Bluebridge directly.
For check-in and boarding queries on the day: Speak to the Bluebridge staff at the terminal.
