What is Adblue and how do I top it up?

Details on what Adblue is and why you need to ensure it is topped up during your journey.

Updated over 4 months ago

Adblue is a diesel exhaust fluid that helps to reduce emissions โ€“ you can find it in most petrol stations in New Zealand and Australia.

The Adblue tank on your vehicle will range in size dependent on your vehicle.

Based on the manufacturer guidelines the average consumption of Adblue is about 3 litres per 100 litres of diesel, although this can differ quite significantly based on driving conditions & driving style.

It is important NOT to mix Adblue and Diesel together. Please check before you fill the correct area before topping up. The Adblue cap will be blue in colour, whereas the Diesel cap will be black coloured to differentiate the two.

Please note: Adblue is used in Diesel vehicles only.
