240-volt electrical system in your Chill'd 6 by JUCY vehicle
To run the microwave, power points, air conditioner and to recharge the house battery, connect the motorhome’s 15amp electricity cord to a 240-volt external power source. These devices will only work if you are connected to 240-volt power.
The power cable used in Australia and New Zealand is different
AUSTRALIA - The 15amp power cable
NEW ZEALAND - The 15amp power cable
How long will my domestic battery last?
It is recommended to use the powered features within the vehicle conservatively and if you intend to stay off grid, that every 48 hours you charge the power at a powered outlet to keep batteries charged.
Troubleshooting:
If you are experiencing difficulty in charging the vehicle, ensure that the power point at the caravan park is in working order. Unplug the van from the powered outlet at the caravan park. Attach an alternative device (mobile phone, toaster etc.) into the power lead on the van and check the lead is in working order.
Plug the device directly into the powered outlet at the caravan park. If there is an issue with the powered outlet inform caravan park staff.
If you experience a power surge where the circuit breakers trip, locate the circuit breakers outside of the motorhome and switch them back to ‘ON’/UP position.
Overloading the 240-volt system will cause the circuit breakers to turn off. This can happen if using multiple 240-volt items at once.
The main cause could be if trying to use air conditioner and microwave or kettle at the same time.
If the above does not work, check with the campground if they have a spare cable, as it may be an issue with the cable we have provided. If the campground’s cable works, we authorise you to buy a new cable up the value of $100. Please keep the receipt and we will refund you when you drop off the vehicle. You can buy the 15amp power cable at any Bunnings, Mitre 10 and or Camping / boating store.
Please do not attempt to repair or assess the wiring in the vehicle – a certified electrician needs to look at this.
